The Minvasys Amazonia Pax & Nile Pax Nile Pax Polymer Free Paclitaxel Stent Program

To overcome the possibility of local inflammatory reactions prompted by durable-polymers present in first-generation drug-eluting stent (DES), interventional cardiologists have spent much research to develop non-polymeric drug-eluting systems. The novel Amazonia PAX® (MINIVASYS, France) comprises a Co-Cro stent, a well-tested anti-proliferative agent (paclitaxel, ~100µg) and the polymer-free PAX technology. The drug is carried into the vessel by an abluminal coating, with the restriction to the outer surface of each strut.
